Wire meshes of different characteristics are used for this type of protection.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to laying the wire mesh, the slope will be cleaned of loose parts and loose stones, plants, bushes and trees with hand tools or machines, if necessary. The work is performed by employees specializing in work at height using specially adapted mountaineering equipment and techniques.<\/p>\n<p>Galvanized hexagonal safety wire meshes in all respects according to the General Technical Requirements 2.15.9. or according to some other standard, are installed on 12 mm RA anchors, 50 cm long, which are placed on top of the slope.<\/p>\n<p>The wire meshes are folded at the top of the slope and fixed to the anchors with a 12 mm diameter steel rope, and are connected vertically with special steel rings using appropriate pliers. At the bottom, the wire meshes are loaded with concrete weights or fixed with wedges and a steel rope. The procedure for installing protection on the slope is different for different types of materials, and depends on the substrate and slope. It was adopted because it allows to reduce the use of shotcrete to a minimum. It is used to ensure the stability of slopes where there is a possibility of falling blocks that cannot be individually covered with anchors. First, these are clay sediments in the composition of the terrain in which the slopes are formed. As a rule, the larger the clay layer, the greater the possibilities for landslide development, especially if the permeable layer on the slope is thinner.<\/p>\n<p>Another factor is the alteration of permeable sandy and impermeable clay layers on the slope. An important factor is the increase in the amount of water and hydrostatic pressure in the sediments. Namely, sliding surfaces are always bonded to clay waterproof layers. Clay binds water to itself, swelling and multiplying its volume.
